Alya Alyassen
About me
My foundation is in Person-Centred Therapy, where empathy, non-judgment, and unconditional positive regard empower clients to become their own experts.
I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I also work in an integrative style, drawing on CBT, solution-focused therapy, and other approaches to tailor sessions to each client’s needs.
I specialise in trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, as well as grief, fear, relationships, and emotional distress. My passion lies in helping people build resilience, develop coping strategies, and rediscover stability and fulfilment.
My experience spans bereavement support, addiction services, general mental health, and psychiatric hospital work, alongside research in mental health. I remain committed to ongoing growth through supervision and professional development, ensuring I provide the best care possible.
