About me

I am a consultant psychiatrist with more than 15 years of experience working across Egypt and the United Kingdom, supporting individuals and families through some of their most vulnerable moments. My practice is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of how personal history, migration, and identity shape mental health.

As someone who has lived the immigrant journey myself, I understand the emotional complexities of adapting to a new country—navigating loneliness, cultural differences, loss of support networks, and the pressure to succeed while finding your place. This lived experience profoundly shapes how I work with patients, especially those from migrant, minority, or cross-cultural backgrounds. I strive to offer a therapeutic space where people feel seen, understood, and respected for their unique journeys.

My clinical career has spanned perinatal psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health, ADHD. Having worked within diverse healthcare systems—both in Egypt and the NHS—I bring a broad and flexible clinical perspective, enriched by the ability to work with patients from many cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds. I am a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and have built a career defined by dedication, continuous learning, and genuine care for the people I serve.

My approach is warm, patient-centred, and grounded in empathy. I believe in empowering people to understand themselves, heal, and grow—no matter where they come from or what they have been through
