About me

Hello, I am Zalfa, a Counselling Psychologist. At the heart of my work, I strive to create a warm and empathetic space for individuals from all walks of life. I support clients facing a variety of challenges, including self-esteem issues, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and low mood. Additionally, I have substantial experience working with complex mental health difficulties such as complex trauma and gender-based violence. My work within the NHS and various third-sector organisations has particularly centred on individuals who have experienced trauma, those curious about or wanting to explore their racial and cultural identity, as well as working with people in the LGBTQ+ community.

What you can expect from my sessions:
My therapeutic style is integrative, drawing from multiple modalities to meet your unique needs. These include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, systemic therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. Whether you’re facing specific issues or more ambiguous feelings, therapy can be a valuable tool for understanding current patterns, developing coping skills to manage difficult emotions, and nurturing your inherent strengths.

What I’m like:
As a Lebanese-British psychologist, my multicultural background enriches my practice. My lived experiences have cultivated a particular interest in holistic therapeutic approaches, which consider all aspects of a person’s life to facilitate long-term positive change in a culturally sensitive and empowering way. I am also deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment.
