About me
I am of Lebanese origin born in Sierra Leone and grew up in France, Switzerland, Lebanon, and the United Kingdom. Multi-cultural and multi-lingual I provide therapy in English, French & Arabic. I believe this to be important as it allows open-mindedness and flexibility in my therapeutic approach. As well as understanding the vastness and diversity of « the person » as a whole.
Previously, I had my own practice in France where I was trained in Integrative Sophro-Analysis®. This is a mindfulness based psychotherapy that uses tools such as breathing, meditation and visualisation in the counselling/ psychotherapeutic process.
My greatest loves are books, poetry, travel, music, philosophy, mindfulness and of course the multi-dimensional aspects of psychotherapy with a strong inclusion of « The Body ». I am committed to my professional development and I participate in continuous training to improve my skills and to be up to date with new therapeutic methods. Inquisitive, deep thinking, feeling, intuitive and open with a respect for others in their diversity. Being a therapist is the natural and vocational path for me today and I strive to transmit that in my practice.
I hold a psychology degree and received training in France in psychodynamic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy. In the UK, I obtained a professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling and am accredited by the BACP with Professional Status from the NCPS and have ten years of experience. I have regular supervision with an accredited supervisor. I adhere to the BACP and NCPS Ethical Frameworks and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
My therapeutic approach is both integrative, person-centred and encompasses both short and long-term modalities, addressing a wide array of issues. I work in a warm, genuine and non-judgemental way.
I am also a clinical supervisor, in which I hope to create a supportive space for your personal and professional growth. Whether you’re new or experienced, I’m here to help you reflect, learn, and thrive. I also understand the therapist training process and challenges of establishing a practice. If anyone would be interested in having supervision and finding out if we’d be a good fit, please contact me.
I describe my approach as relational, body oriented integrative psychotherapy, meaning that I draw on a range of theoretical models, techniques, ideas and life experiences. For example, I work with both body and mind connections towards integrating the whole person, understanding how our earliest experiences can affect mind, body and feelings, and how these can create obstacles to growth. Therefore, if it’s right for you, I sometimes work with breathing, posture, and body awareness in order for you to connect with, express and release difficult feelings.
I am also trained in psychedelic integration psychotherapy and can accompany individuals on their psychedelic journeys from preparation through to integration of the whole process as well as EMDR.
