Sara Soltan
About me
I am Sara Soltan, a medical doctor based in Cardiff, UK, with a profound dedication to advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights spanning over a decade. Throughout my extensive career, I’ve delved into various realms of sexual health, wearing multiple hats as a doctor, researcher, sexual educator, and public health practitioner.
However, my journey revealed a pivotal realization: that sexual difficulties often stem not solely from organic causes. This understanding prompted me to pursue a postgraduate diploma in psychosexual and relationship therapy, aiming to cultivate a more comprehensive understanding of psychosexual therapy. Through this pursuit, I recognized the pivotal role intimate relationships play in individuals’ emotional, mental, and sexual well-being. Consequently, I expanded my practice to support couples in enhancing their relationships.
In my practice, I strive to create a comforting and non-judgmental space where my clients can authentically be themselves, fostering an environment of acceptance. Embracing an integrative approach, I firmly believe in tailoring therapy and treatment to the unique needs of each individual, allowing them to set their own pace.
Having worked across various countries and with diverse communities, I deeply value human differences and diversity, providing an empathetic and inclusive environment for all. In my practice, I have collaborated with people living with HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, survivors of domestic violence, asylum seekers, and refugees. In addition, I have provided comprehensive sexual education to young people and neurodivergent individuals.
My areas of expertise encompass gender, sexual, and relationship diversity, addressing issues such as vaginismus, dyspareunia, erectile dysfunction, anorgasmia, polyamorous relationships, kink, infidelity, and gender dysphoria.
I am proudly registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and hold student membership with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
